Far Away

You still read, don’t you?

Far away
In another world
When the night sleeps
And all your lamps
Have closed their eyes.

Then somewhere alone
Under a lonely lamp
And this book in hand
You still fight those
Tameless tears, don’t you?

You still read, don’t you?

There was a strange then
There is a queer now
And in those lips
There was a ‘No’ then
And still a denial tonight.

Still somewhere tonight
When those new pages
Tell an ancient tale
You confess through
Few silent tears, don’t you?

You still read, don’t you?
